How to prepare for a tattoo?

28/06/2026

Getting a tattoo isn't just about not drinking alcohol or taking drugs before the session. It's also important to be in the right mood for the whole session. The procedure is stressful for the body, so let's make it more comfortable.

The entire process of preparing for a tattoo can begin a month before the session itself. Sufficient drinking regimen, skin hydration, occasional peeling, all of this is therefore key for us, as tattoo artists, so that the skin does not protest the first time the needle is inserted into the skin. For your better feeling, it is important to have a good and quality diet, sufficient sleep and study some breathing techniques that can improve pain management in critical moments.

On the day of the tattoo session, bring good food, snacks containing sugars, which are great helpers in lowering blood pressure and mild cramps, or knocking during long and large tattoos. Comfortable clothes that will not press you anywhere and warm slippers in the winter months.

If you are more of an introvert, it will not hurt to bring a book, headphones, or watch your favorite series. It is important that you feel safe and can relax and enjoy the tattoo process so that when you look at your tattoo you remember what a wonderful experience it was.

I am really looking forward to our meeting.

Hugs and kisses,

Your SVVA
